Now it's Time to Hang the Rest of Them.

Well, we didn’t do much about Pol Pot, except to support his admission into the U.N. as the legitimate representative of the Cambodian people. We didn’t do much about Idi Amin as he wandered the Saudi Arabian desert in his exile, no doubt his slippers and his pipe awaited him each evening as the sun went down.

We didn’t do anything about Rwanda. We haven’t done anything about the Janjaweed in the Sudan. We don’t much give a shit about the Falun Gong or Tibet. Something happened in Armenia or maybe it didn’t according to the Turks. There’s a weird irony in that given their cozy buddy-up with the Israelis but that goes way back to the time when the Turks were Khazars. Still, history has no meaning except in terms of the versions accepted to justify the acts that follow.

Saddam was one of the good guys until he wasn’t and then he became one of the bad guys. In terms of behavior and intent he is indistinguishable from the rulers of most Arab countries. Unfortunately for him his profile was too high in the way that John Gotti’s profile was too high. Both of these men had an undesirable maverick streak which put them at odds with the Pirate kings at the great table of international swag. Really, when you think about it, it was just another gangland slaying. The Bush Crime family couldn’t get him to ‘come to the table for a sit down’.

So they hung Saddam and you got to admit he went like a man. You could imagine g.w.b. being led to the gallows with a full body trembling and a wet stain at the crotch. The whole gang of them; the mass murders that comprise the administration of the Bush Crime Family and their puppet-master neo-cons and their overlords in Israel. Could you imagine these going to their much deserved fate with half the sand of Saddam? Not likely.

In the scheme of things this group of gangsters deserves the gallows more than Saddam. He only did what rulers in that area always do. Strongman rule requires the pacification of various elements at one time or another in whatever scorpion infested wilderness they reign over. It’s how it is done. It doesn’t ‘get done’ any other way. It’s being done the same way in Arab nations across the board. You’d be justified in charging a store owner for having loss leaders to get you into their place by the same token. It’s how it is done. This is known as business as usual.

Saddam shouldn’t have been hanged. He should have gone into exile which is what all of them do. Where’s that guy from Zaire now? Where are all the others from their African nations? Where is Baby Doc? On the Riviera last I heard. He and his wife murdered an unbaptized infant on their bed before they left to put bad mojo on whoever was going to be the new occupant. Nobody cared. Few of us even heard about it.

How about Pinochet? What about Kissinger? No, life isn’t fair. But according to the rules in play Saddam should not have been hanged. Elsewise they all should and the sooner the better.

I’m against capital punishment for reasons too numerous to get into. I’m against war for that matter because it is always drummed up by an interested party of business folk who want to profit from both sides of the conflict. It’s in London, Washington D.C. and Tel Aviv where these decisions are made. War seldom has anything to do with the reasons given. They are about the advancement of commercial interests. Sometimes they are about wiping people out but the commercial interests are still there.

It’s really about people being stupid. The process of dumbing down over the last two decades has been very effective. Making borderline intellects even stupider than they were ensures a pool of canon fodder and election supporters for any venture, no matter how crass, no mater how venal, no matter what. It can be analyzed and justified... easiest thing in the world.

You take the entertainment industries and you make the performers as trivial and empty as possible. You pump cotton candy into the vacant attics of their minds like your present day pop stars. You filter in the necessary drugs and alcohol. You reduce language comprehension in the schools and you encourage a materialistic commonality in the people. Conversely you manifest religious fundamentalism in opposition to the apparent hedonism of the youth and the entertainment industries output as you pander to the fear of the parents and you get what you get; what you got now and both of these seemingly disparate entities are created and manipulated by the same interests. Fools can’t see it and you got plenty of those.

For some of the sheep it caters to vague ideals and aspirations that they have imperfectly formulated in their minds. For some it comes after their strong appetites. For some it plays on their fear. There are a few common denominators that always come into play, whether it is ‘bread and circuses’, or the boogeyman, or the girl in the bathing suit next to the bottle of beer... or in the black cocktail dress next to the bottle of scotch. It’s a time tested formula.

Following this it is necessary to marginalize those who see what is happening and to label them in a negative light as if the truth tellers were agents of the opposition. When I say opposition I mean that which appears to oppose our common opportunity for the good life. The good life wanders further and further away as the few are enriched at the expense of the many and all along the way, those who have had their dreams and opportunities stolen from them applaud the efforts of their slave-masters. It’s hard to imagine but you have to remember, a lot of people have little imagination at all and really are not very bright. You can see this if you have the capacity. How many of us would that be?

And for those who can see there remains the threat of being perceived as an enemy of the state. There are a lot of checks and balances for all manner of protest and palpable outrage. There are always the police and the airport checkpoints. It wasn’t a bad idea for them to dummy up the 9/11 attacks and the London bombings and blame them on the Scarlet Pimpernel. The minor distraction of terrorism has become much larger than life. Bin Laden might be under the bed or in the closet after all.

If they can hang Saddam they can hang anyone, including you. They make it up as they go along. They got a stable full of whores in the governments of the world and thousands of bully boys with guns and clubs. What are you going to do about it, punk?

Well, even if we never get anywhere. If we cannot turn the tide or reach the common heart it needs to be said. Some are saying it and maybe that will bring some good and maybe it won’t. It won’t always be this dark and maybe it will get darker but sooner or later the sun is going to come out and each of us has a destiny that is married to our behavior and intentions. Just you go on doing what you do and you will see that, indeed, character may well be fate after all.

I was thinking just the same thing about Bush on the gallows. The contrast is pertinent.

Excellent. I truly hope you're right about character and fate. :)

quite probably my character is flawed... but i dream of unit closure in the rose garden, carried in livid vivid screaming digital broadband to the world, or whatever is left of it.

Brown stuff would be running down Bush's legs if he had a noose put around his neck. I'm sure politicians have a special place in satan's heart and demons scream with delight when they find out another former government employee is on their way home.

I know of one other writer who performs at your level of brilliance and outrage framed in disicplined language and that's Gore Vidal. I imagine you are going to be widely read if truth and passion ever come back on the menu.

Good words. All I can think of is a certain prophecy concerning the last days and "strong delusion, so that they should believe a lie"

Political designs behind Saddam’s execution:

1. Saddam is clearly the scapegoat for an international war syndicate, which includes many in our current political leadership, both in front and behind the scenes. Evacuating due process, controlling evidence and terrorizing the prosecution team were all par for the course in Saddam’s trial. A key reason for the speedy road to execution, was - like Milosevic's convenient death earlier this year - to eliminate a prominent player and key witness of this international criminal war conspiracy, thereby avoid further indictment of members of our leadership, many of whom have been accessory to Saddam’s actual crimes.

2. To « bookend » media fatigue and public indifference, re : Saddam’s trial. The whole point of the « trial » was to deliver a quick public execution, and thereby feed the hunger for blood so brilliantly cultivated in Western public opinion. An execution gives sense of heightened drama, and inagurates the next round of intensified bloodshed in the region… and beyond.

3. Lastly, to make Saddam a martyr for (gasp!) sympathisers, thereby deepening chaos in the middle-east over a longer period of time. Certainly, the US-led war in Iraq can be called a success insofar as its central purpose has been to aid the spreading of chaos in the Middle-East.

wonderful prose and therein lies your problem for which you only hope for a solution. wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills first. that is a lesson your hated masters know all too well and they understand human nature all too well-they count on it and they are measured by their success. perhaps one day people like you will produce more than words for the race is afoot and you're losing.

when we were young we would run in open fields, our hearts filled with the joy of being alive. now we run only to race one another, our hearts pump and burn until they near bursting. we run knowing we are losing time. shut the fuck up and do something.

He is doing something. It is the inspiration of ideas presented in words that inspire us to action from our early reading and on through our lives. I happen to know that this writer is active in many fields of activity and has put his body on the line more than once. You ought to study your subject before you run your mouth. It is even more insulting that you don't even print your name. What have you done?

What goes around comes around. Congratulations, U.S., you are now clearly known as COWARDS.

Anyone heard how U.S. citizens are now considered THIRD RATE citizens in Bolivia effective immediately?

Funny how they don't mention this fact in yahoo news IN ENGLISH

That whole ramble is nonsense. Against capital punishment? Let some thug murder your daughter, and Im sure your view would change. Seems like a lot your thoughts are either half baked, or your trying to appeal to the half baked. The citizens of the U.S. better quit whining about how bad things are. We live in the most blessed nation on earth, and our President has taken a lot of heat to keep you safe. To say that G.W.B. deserves the hanging more than saddam is ignorant. Everyone is so excited to jump on the bush hating band wagon. You try running this country for one day, and I am sure your respect for the man would change. Most people have no clue what is involved in keeping the citizens of this country safe. We have running water, a/c, new cars, electricity, police protection, firemen, and ambulances (to take your stoned mind to the hospital). You should get on your knees and thank the man above that you are priveleged enough to live in this awesome country. Sure, its not perfect, but its pretty darn close.

There is a general rule about gangster life: the nastier you mistreat the others, the nastier you will be killed one day.

So Saddam got his ho-hum farewell... he was only a mid-level wiseguy anyway. I have no clue how our Capo Bushes will end their careers, but my hunch is, it'll be something awesomely spectacular... way beyond the Mussolini or Ceaucescu finales.

Howdy Bryan;

I don't live in that (chuckle) awesome country anymore which you would have known if you had checked the masthead. I left 'just before' it became clear to me that the fix was in and that "the worst president in American history" would be shoehorned into the oval office. As it turns out he wasn't even ever elected. By the way, I could walk into the White House tomorrow and instantly do a better job. Being president isn't rocket science. It's a matter of working toward the greatest good for the greatest number of people and utilizing the bully pulpit effectively. Both these things I can accomplish reflexively while watching a football game, better than bush could accomplish if he put both brain cells on to the job at the same time. I don't say this to appear immodest; anyone who isn't corrupt to the bone and possesses an ordinary amount of common decency could do the same. He and his crew ARE the enemies we need to be kept safe from.

Now Mister Visible don't be so mean to Mister Bryan, he's just the results of our brain dead Mister Ariel Sharon's telepathic influence over the American people. You know about a vacuum; it desires to be full. Mister Bryan is lucky to be the recipient of Mister Sharon’s brain dead telepathic thoughts and he is in luck for that void to be filled with wonderful thoughts about our Mashiach George W Bush. And yes your ‘blessed nation’ is perfect as it cares about other white people eg. Israel before it cares about its own. In fact, very soon, so I believe, anybody who doesn’t think like Mister Bryan will be housed in the new quarters being built by Halliburton at the moment in USA and taught to think like Mister Bryan. Praise be to the Lord Most High.
By the way Mister Visible, although I appreciate you kind words for Mister Bush, I don’t think you could do the job that He is doing. Fortunately, it’s not in you.
May the Lord bless your every waking moment
Sollie Leberwitcz
ps. Rabbi Hashem also recieves telepathetic thoughts from Mister Sharon.

Some recent history that shows: You really do reap what you sow:

http://news.bbc.co.uk

"1989: Romania's 'First Couple' Executed"

Deposed Romanian president Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife Elena have been shot by a firing squad after a secret military tribunal found them both guilty of crimes against the state.
They were charged and convicted of genocide and undermining the national economy among a series of other offences, officials said.

News of their death was announced to the people of Romania on national television amid reports the couple had been found smuggling large amounts of money out of the country.

A stunned reaction from the public gave way to scenes of delight and a public outpouring on the streets to celebrate.

But there was some unrest from troops who supported the former leader.

The deaths end the dictator's 24 years as communist party leader - 21 of them as Romania's president - during which he suppressed all opposition using brutal force.

The National Salvation Front is now running Romania, and America and the Soviet Union have recognised the new government.

But the White House said it was "regrettable" the trial had not been held in public.

Christmas celebrated

The new government has pledged democracy will replace the tyranny of Ceausescu's rule and promised to allow free speech, free thought and free enterprise in Romania.

Party leaders called on the West to aid and support its new reform programme.

The executions come after 10 tumultuous days of violence and an upsurge of mass protests against Ceausescu's regime.

Demonstrations began in the western city of Timisoara against the harassment of a dissident ethnic-Hungarian priest, Laszlo Tokes.

It led to protests about a lack of basic supplies such as bread but the backlash from Ceausescu's armed forces led to accusations many people were massacred.

Demonstrators stormed Ceausescu's palace and he and his wife tried to flee Bucharest but they were captured by military forces who had turned against them.

Crowds celebrated the deaths in the streets

The BBC's Mike Donkin: "The people here believe that there's no going back"

In Context
Two days after the death of Nicolae Ceausescu and his wife, Elena, video pictures of their summary trial and execution were shown on television in Romania and around the world.
The images of their dead bodies, riddled with bullets, were broadcast and much of the unrest which continued after their deaths subsided.

The final figure on the numbers of those who died during the demonstrations in December 1989 was placed as being closer to 100 than the thousands predicted.

Elections were held in Romania in 1990 bringing the National Salvation Front officially to power after it abolished the one party system.

What a marvellous piece of literature. And what a brilliant expose of the entire corrupt and shameful mess that has been made of place known as the cradle of civilization.
